The MapBiomas Award reaches its 8th edition, reaffirming its commitment to science, socio-environmental justice, and the promotion of diversity. In addition to recognizing initiatives that use MapBiomas data to advance conservation, sustainable management, and the fight against climate change, this year introduces a new category: the Special Category Traditional Peoples and Communities. Created to honor researchers historically underrepresented in science, this category highlights the work of Indigenous peoples, quilombolas, and members of other traditional communities.
The award is open to students, researchers, professors, consultants, NGOs, private sector professionals, and public managers. A wide range of work can be submitted: studies, articles, dissertations, reports, and other initiatives that demonstrate the qualified use of MapBiomas data.
If you are creating positive impact through data and want to turn knowledge into action, this is your opportunity! Join this network of transformation. Read the call for submissions and apply to the 8th edition of the MapBiomas Award!
