Taking place on July 7th and 8th, 2026, in São Paulo, the summit brings together researchers, students, professionals, journalists, and public managers to discuss technological innovations—such as the use of Artificial Intelligence—and to strengthen the open data infrastructure for environmental conservation and sustainable development.
More than a technical event, the MapBiomas User Summit serves as a community catalyst—a space to transform knowledge into territorial management and environmental impact. We recognize that the value of MapBiomas is only realized when its data and platforms are actively adopted and utilized, as it is the users who transform information into action.
Therefore, this meeting focuses on promoting direct interaction, networking e a and knowledge exchange among users, encouraging practical solutions and continuous collaboration to improve data, maps, and platforms. The goal is for every connection and lesson learned to result in concrete applications and changes for the environment, strengthening the user ecosystem and expanding the network's capacity across different contexts and territories.

The MapBiomas User Summit is designed for a diverse audience that utilizes or is interested in territorial and environmental data. The event brings together MapBiomas data users, researchers, students, geotechnology professionals, public managers, and journalists who use this information daily, as well as representatives from traditional communities, the financial sector, civil society organizations, and the private sector.
Registration is open to everyone who fits this profile. However, due to a limited number of spots, participation in the event will be subject to a selection process.
The event will span two days with a complementary agenda. Therefore, we recommend full participation to get the most out of the programming and proposed activities. Nevertheless, it is possible to register for only one of the days, though we emphasize the importance of attending both.

Highlights from the Previous Edition (2025)

The first edition of the MapBiomas User Summit took place on July 7th and 8th, 2025, at Insper in São Paulo, marking the 10th-anniversary celebrations of MapBiomas.
The event brought together a diverse and engaged community, featuring:
