10th MapBiomas Annual Seminar takes place on August 13; initiative celebrates a decade of action, with data showing how the country has been transforming over the last 40 years

August 1, 2025

MapBiomas will present its Collection 10 of annual land cover and land use maps on August 13, during the 10th MapBiomas Annual Seminar, to be held at the Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center in Brasília. This year's event is special, with the theme "40 years of Brazilian history in 10 years of MapBiomas," as the network completes a decade of activity in 2025.

In addition, the new collection spans the period from 1985 to 2024, providing four decades of maps that reveal the state of the national territory in terms of land cover and land use for each year, and how this scenario has transformed over time.

The seminar program includes the presentation of Collection 10 data, the launch of new features to facilitate the use of the MapBiomas platform, debates on climate challenges and the future of new technologies, and a celebration of the network's 10th anniversary.
