Historical mapping of fire scars and water surfaces in Brazil, as well as an updated collection of land cover and land use maps, will be launched this month by the MapBiomas Project. The first event in the Brazil Revealed 1985-2020 series will be on Monday (16) with the launch of MapBiomas Fire Collection 1. At 10.30 a.m., with a live presentation and debate on the MapBiomas YouTube channel (@mapbiomasbrasil) and also on Facebook (@mapbiomas).
Collection 6 is also arriving with new features and improvements in the mapping of land use and land cover in Brazil. The new mapping will include data from 2020, extending the historical series of land use and land cover in Brazil from 1985 to 2020, as well as new classes.
